Visitors to the Old Dubbo Gaol do not need to be alarmed when they see people digging what looks like a tunnel to freedom from within the Gaol’s walls this week. As archaeologist Jodie Benton explains, they’ve already found the old gaol wall, and today, the final day of digging, they’ll be carrying out an excavation along the gaol’s northern wall, to find evidence of graves, after many anecdotes talking about the burials many decades ago. #history #olddubbogaol #archaeology #makinghistory #redev
