SHEDD — The Linn County Historical Society will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Shedd Museum, 29990 1st St.

Relatives say John Shedd Reed died Sunday of natural causes at his Lake Forest home. He was 90. Reed was the grandson of the founder of Chicago's Shedd Aquarium, John G. Shedd.

CHICAGO (AP) _ After more than two years, Faust the Komodo dragon will be leaving Chicago.

Shedd served as a student pastor at Waterloo's Northminster Presbyterian Church before going on to lead churches in Colorado, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, Georgia, South Carolina, Hawaii and California.
