Protesters in Washington DC today have likened Donald Trump’s military parade to similar events carried out in Nazi Germany. The parade is set to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the US Army and coincides with Trump’s 79th birthday.

In an interview with NBC News, the president also said he assumes his relationship with the tech billionaire is over after their recent falling-out.

The president praised Israel’s airstrikes and urged Iran to agree to a nuclear deal in interviews with several outlets on Friday.

"There has already been great death and destruction, but there is still time to make this slaughter... come to an end," Trump wrote on social media.
