On Sunday night, South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster and Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine both announced their respective deployment of troops to the capital.

Some Ohio National Guard members will be deployed across our nation’s capital. Governor Mike DeWine announced Saturday that 150 military police from the Ohio National Guard will be sent to Washington, D.C. to support the DC National Guard, according to the governor’s spokesperson.

At least 700 National Guard troops will be sent to Washington, D.C., nearly doubling the number of Guardsmen active in the capital.
