The Washington Nationals were awarded the No. 1 pick in December's draft lottery and selected high school shortstop Eli Willits on Sunday in a surprise pick.

Tyler Bremner was selected by the Los Angeles Angels as the No. 2 draft pick of the 2025 MLB Draft, sparking a huge celebration surrounded by his family just one month after his mother died of cancer.

MLB Draft is here. The two-day, 20-round event began Sunday evening at Truist Park in Atlanta, home of the All-Star Game. The Nationals won the draft lottery and held the No. 1 pick for the third time in franchise history.

The Boston Red Sox have come to terms on a contract with third-round pick Anthony Eyanson. The right-handed pitcher out of LSU has reportedly signed for $1.75 million. At 20 years old, Eyanson was the 87th overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft.

Jeff Bittiger, a former major-league pitcher who originally was drafted by the Mets and later served for more than two decades as a scout for the Athletics, died Saturday. He was 63. The Mets chose the Jersey City native and Secaucus HS product in the seventh round of the 1980 draft.
