The Arkansas National Guard has asked the federal government for authority to make immigration arrests, data shows. According to ICE’s website, the Arkansas National Guard applied to receive authority under the so-called “task force model” of the 287(g) program.

On Tuesday, in Florida, National Guard troops were activated to support Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in nine cities, including Miami and Orlando, according to a local official.

A representative from the Indiana National Guard and Camp Atterbury provided details and answered questions about the military facility becoming a temporary holding facility for immigrant detainees.
