California Gov. Gavin Newsom delivered a statewide address on Tuesday in the wake of immigration operations that sparked days of protest in Los Angeles and the deployment of hundreds of National Guard and U.

Newsom lambasted Trump, calling him a President who “wants to be bound by no law or constitution, perpetuating a unified assault on American traditions.” And he repeated his assertion that Trump was “fanning the flames” in Los Angeles “on purpose.”

Gov. Gavin Newsom called the acts of protest against immigration enforcement in Los Angeles "the antidote to fear and anxiety" and urged demonstrators to do so peacefully.
