More than 20 Republican attorneys general are demanding that the Trump administration reinstate safety protocols for the abortion drug mifepristone.
"Despite the FDA's expert judgment, some states have restricted access to medical abortion care, so unfortunately today's announcement will not provide equal access to all people," Masingill said.
Mifepristone is the first pill, followed by the drug misoprostol, for medication abortion in the first 10 weeks of pregnancy, and won FDA approval in 2000.
