More than two dozen people were killed and dozens more injured as powerful tornadoes and severe storms ripped across Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Kentucky, Virginia and even parts of the Washington, D.

At least 30 are dead in Kentucky, Missouri and Virginia after reported tornadoes tore through the region as part of an extreme weather outbreak.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear reported deaths in devastated Polk County. Missouri officials say seven died there, and in Virginia, two died when trees struck their vehicles.
