An intense Arctic cold blast sweeping across the United States has prompted extreme cold warnings in multiple regions.

Temperatures will begin to plummet and northwest winds will stay steady between 12 to 25 mph. Wind chills will dip below zero, falling to as low as 10 below in the Chicago area.
