Trader Joe's Customer Choice Award winners for this year were just announced. Here are Trader Joe’s customer’s favorite products, broken down by category. Weirdly, there’s one iconic product missing.

The popular item, which contains a base of acai puree mixed with strawberries, blueberries, and bananas, and topped with a granola and coconut mixture that includes chia and flax seeds and quinoa flakes, can be found in Trader Joe’s freezer section.

Acai’s dark purple berries are from a palm tree found throughout South America and are touted as an antioxidant-rich food source that some nutritionists believe can protect cells from damage, according to WebMD. Proponents say the berries are richer in antioxidants than cranberry, raspberry, blackberry, strawberry or blueberries.

The popular breakfast item was recalled last week due to possible plastic contamination. The grocery chain did not say if the product had made anyone ill.

The company says the item may contain plastic.

Trader Joe's recalled their frozen Organic Acai Bowls nationwide because the products may contain plastic.The grocer said they issued the recall out of an "abundance of caution" and did not mention any injuries in connection to the acai bowls.
