Great news Wisconsinites, for the first time in over a week, you shouldn't have to worry about being outside because of air quality. On Aug. 6, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has not extended its Wisconsin air quality alert — a decision it hasn't made since July 30.

Smoke impacts began in northern Wisconsin Tuesday morning and will spread south through the state by July 31. Air quality may briefly improve on July 31 before smoke returns to northern areas on Aug. 1, the DNR reports.

The Bay Area Air District has issued an air quality advisory in the region for Tuesday because of smoke from a wildfire in Central California.
