Top Thrill 2 will open in 2024, said Cedar Point, and will be "the world's tallest and fastest triple-launch strata roller coaster." Cedar Point is located in Sandsusky, Ohio.

"Top Thrill 2 is currently down for mechanical reasons," Tony Clark, spokesperson for the Sandusky, Ohio theme park, told WKYC TV 3 in Cleveland in a story published Sunday, June 8.

Top Thrill 2 is the world's fastest triple-launch strata coaster. It features two 420-foot-tall towers and launches riders three times at 74 miles per hour, 101 mph and finally 120 mph.

Top Thrill 2 at Cedar Point, a reimagining of the original Top Thrill Dragster, opened in April 2024. It closed for the season just over a week later. But that was 2024.

In the announcement, Cedar Point said they couldn't confirm a reopening date. This comes after the park debuted the Top Thrill 2 just over a week ago, officially opening it to the public on May 4.
