Nepal is marking the 136th International Workers’ Day or May Day today with various events organized by labour unions and workers’ associations across the country.

In a dramatic development on Wednesday, Resham Chaudhary, the Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP) patron, was suddenly arrested in the afternoon and released in the evening after almost five hours.

The country will experience partly to generally cloudy conditions throughout the day, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).
