OREBRO, Sweden -- Despite his gunshot wounds, sustained Tuesday in Sweden's deadliest mass shooting, Salim Karim Iskef managed to video-call his fiancee to tell her he loved her one last time.

Salim Karim Iskef, a 28-year-old nursing student, died along with nine others in Sweden's deadliest mass shooting at an adult education centre in Örebro. Surviving gunshot wounds, he managed a final call to his fiancée.

Ten years ago, Salim Iskef fled Syria - where Islamic State militants had killed his father - for Sweden, only to be gunned down this week by an unemployed Swedish man with no apparent ideological motive.

All of the victims lived in Orebro, but so far authorities have declined to share their identities or any other details about them. Police also confirmed on Friday that the suspected gunman was a 35-year-old man from the area.
