Ruidoso officials announced in a Thursday morning news conference that they fear more rain on Saturday may bring flooding to the area again. "The threat of rain is imminent," Ruidoso Mayor Lynn Crawford said.

RUIDOSO, N.M. (AP) — The mountain village of Ruidoso returned to the grim rituals of rebuilding after flash flooding and a deadly natural disaster, just one year after wildfire and intense flooding reshaped the popular vacation getaway and its surroundings.
Officials in Ruidoso, New Mexico will hold a press conference following the three deaths reported due to floods on Tuesday.
The current map, as of Wednesday, July 9, of road closures by the Ruidoso All-Hazard Information Network, provided by the Ruidoso Office of Emergency Management, notes that many roads are washed out as a result of the rainfall. They include:
Severe flooding at Ruidoso Downs Race Track and Casino caused damage and panicked horses. Jockey Edwin Escobedo and friends helped rescue horses, leading them to higher ground. Trainers and staff worked together to shelter horses in unaffected barns.
