At least three bars in a historic Salt Lake City nightlife area were destroyed in a fire — and their owners say they intend to rebuild.

SALT LAKE CITY — A massive fire broke out in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City Monday night, sending flames several stories high and thick, heavy smoke out into the sky, blanketing the area. A massive fire engulfed a century-old business complex in downtown Salt Lake City.

Businesses destroyed by Monday night's fire on Salt Lake City's Main Street are trying to figure out their next steps.
