Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province faces catastrophic devastation from recent flash floods, with estimates suggesting up to 1,000 fatalities. Villages have been erased from the map, and many families remain unaccounted for.

By Sunday morning, the death toll from the rains across the mountainous north of Pakistan had risen to at least 337 people, with most killed in flash floods, according to the National Disaster Management Authority. In Buner, a three-and-a-half-hour drive from the capital Islamabad, 207 lives were lost and others are still missing.

Heavy monsoon floods have killed at least 194 people in the last 24 hours in flash floods and landslides in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
