The expectation this offseason is that new offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand will install a run-heavy offense. Fields' passing struggles at camp currently indicate that's the right approach to take. If the Jets offense is even league-average this year, it means they ran the football effectively.

Defensive tackle Cam Heyward hasn't fully participated in practice yet during training camp, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, who reported Thursday that the 36-year-old Heyward wants a restructured deal that reflects the reset market for defensive players in the league.

The New York Jets drafted Mason Taylor in April, and he is expected to be a major part of the offense with newly acquired quarterback Justin Fields.
