FORT OGLETHORPE, Ga. - Widespread flash flooding has been reported in Catoosa and Walker counties in northwest Georgia. The flooding also closed a portion of Interstate 24 in Chattanooga causing a massive traffic backup into Georgia. There have been four confirmed fatalities from Tuesday's storms, according to the Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management and Chattanooga Fire Department.

Hundreds of thousands of people in Eastern Tennessee are on alert as floods remain possible throughout Wednesday.
