Egg Company recalled about 1.7 million brown organic and brown cage-free egg varieties distributed to grocery stores between February and May.

Seventy-nine people across seven states have gotten sick with the same outbreak strain of Salmonella that has been linked to the eggs, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Twenty-one people have been hospitalized with no deaths reported.

The outbreak has been tied to multiple brown organic and brown cage-free egg brands distributed to grocery stores in seven states, officials said.
