A magnitude 6.1 earthquake has struck in Turkey’s northwestern province of Balikesir, causing about a dozen buildings to collapse.

The quake, with its epicentre in the town of Sındırgı, sent shockwaves felt some 200 kilometres to the north, in Turkey's largest city of Istanbul.View on euronews
