Authorities say passengers had to evacuate a smoking American Airlines jet at Denver International Airport using an emergency slide.

Passengers and crew members were evacuated from a jet at Denver International Airport on Saturday due to a problem with the aircraft’s landing gear, officials said.

One passenger said she a heard a loud “boom” and then the plane “started to violently shake and we were drifting to the left side of the runway.” One person was injured in the evacuation that took place Saturday in Denver.
