A woman was killed and five other people were hurt when gunfire erupted early Sunday at a large gathering in a Chicago neighborhood, according to police.

The victim was shot in the head and shoulder and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Later in the evening, a 35-year-old man was shot multiple times about the body just before 8:30 p.
