Dorian Pace calmly guided 15 Monticello Middle School students to safety before the bus burst into flames within minutes of their evacuation.

A school bus driver in Ohio is speaking out after saving 15 students from a burning school bus. Dorian Pace, a driver for the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District, said he was driving students on a bus to Monticello Middle School on the morning of Feb. 27 when he heard a loud boom coming from underneath the bus.

Video shared online shows the yellow school bus fully engulfed in flames in a residential area of Cleveland and spewing black smoke into the sky.

More than a dozen middle school students and their bus driver are safe after their trip to school Thursday morning turned dramatic.

A school bus driver safely evacuated 15 students after the vehicle caught fire while headed to school in a Cleveland suburb, getting the children out moments before the bus became engulfed in flames in a residential area.

We called our parents, but luckily the bus driver got us all safe," the seventh-grader said. He and more than a dozen other middle schoolers from the Cleveland, Ohio area are all safe after flames engulfed their bus on Thursday.
