OpenAI has released research preview of GPT 4.5 — its largest and best model for chat yet — for ChatGPT Pro users and developers worldwide.

New Delhi: OpenAI has unveiled a research preview of GPT-4.5, its largest and most advanced model for chat yet, now available to ChatGPT Pro users and developers globally. ChatGPT Pro users can select GPT-4.5 from the model picker on web, mobile, and desktop platforms.

The Indian Music Industry (IMI), representing major record labels, filed a petition in a New Delhi court, arguing that OpenAI’s practices pose a serious threat to the industry, Reuters reports. The labels claim that AI models could be scraping and replicating copyrighted lyrics, compositions, and recordings without consent.

The IMI seeks to intervene in a case brought by news agency Asian News International (ANI), which has accused OpenAI of using ANI’s material without authorisation to train and operate its AI chatbot.

ANI’s lawsuit alleges that OpenAI unlawfully used its copyrighted content to train and operate ChatGPT. Last week, IMI, along with music labels T-Series and Saregama India, moved the court seeking to join the news agency's case against the AI company.

Thinking Machines Lab, a new startup by former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati, aims to raise $1 billion at a $9 billion valuation, Business Insider reported. If the deal closes, the company would be just the latest AI startup with ties to OpenAI to land a big investment.
