ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — One person is dead and another wounded following a shooting early Friday at a University of New Mexico dormitory that prompted the evacuation of hundreds of students and a campuswide search for the suspect.

A suspect was arrested Friday in a shooting that left one person dead and another injured at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and prompted a shelter-in-place order, officials said. John Fuentes, 18, was arrested at a traffic stop Friday around 2:30 p.m. by state police officers, said Troy Weisler, New Mexico State Police chief.
