NEW YORK (WABC) -- The winter storm of January 2026 that once covered 2,000 miles across the nation has pulled away, leaving NYC and the Tri-State area to dig out from the biggest snowfall in years.
The latest forecast puts Central Park at 12 inches of snow, and that’s still the highest snowfall seen there in several years. The last time New York’s weather station in the park saw more than a foot of snow from a single storm was in 2021.
The city requires a four-foot-wide path and set deadlines ranging from four hours to the next morning based on when precipitation ends.
