Gov. Patrick Morrisey is sending the West Virginia National Guard to Washington, D.C., to bolster the Trump administration’s policing of the nation’s capital through a federal crackdown. Morrisey announced the move over the weekend,

The Trump administration is expanding National Guard support at immigration detention sites. Florida activated troops on Tuesday.

A representative from the Indiana National Guard and Camp Atterbury provided details and answered questions about the military facility becoming a temporary holding facility for immigrant detainees.

Maj. Gen. Scott Sherman testified Tuesday at a trial to determine whether the Trump administration violated federal law when it deployed the soldiers and U.S. Marines to Southern California this summer.

Spokesman says Guard is meeting with Homeland Security to work out “what it’ll look like and how we can assist at detention facilities in Nevada.”
