Minneapolis police did not violate the city’s policy barring officers from assisting in immigration enforcement during a federal raid at a Mexican restaurant in June, according to a report by the city’s independent auditor released on Tuesday.

The report by the city's auditor determined that initial details surrounding the June 3 incident should have been communicated sooner to the Minneapolis City Council.

The Minneapolis City Auditor found the city did not violate its ordinance prohibiting assistance with immigration actions when police acted as crowd control during a June federal operation at a Lake Street Mexican restaurant.
