Houston police are investigating a shooting that took place in downtown Houston early Monday. Officers arrived at 800 Texas Avenue to find a man in a vehicle with a gunshot wound, Lt. Marcus Rylander, with the Houston Police Department downtown patrol division, told OnScene TV. The shooting took place around 1:40 a.m.

An assistant chief for the Houston Police Department says the man who was shot, who was in his 30s, was spotted in a vehicle believed to be connected to a Sunday evening robbery in the Bellaire and Kirkwood area.

An armed robbery suspect was fatally shot by Houston police following a 15-minute chase and confrontation where he allegedly failed to comply with officers' commands to drop his weapon.
