Seventy-nine people across seven states have gotten sick with the same outbreak strain of Salmonella that has been linked to the eggs, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Twenty-one people have been hospitalized with no deaths reported.
Egg, of Hilmar, Calif., recalled 1.7 million dozen brown cage-free and brown certified organic eggs.
Egg Company has issued a recall on Friday for 1,700,000 brown cage-free and certified organic brown eggs due to potential fears of salmonella. Newsweek reached out to the company after hours via phone Friday night for comment.
