CAIRO -- Egyptian officials said Tuesday a fire that engulfed a main telecom company building in downtown Cairo the day before left four people dead and over two dozen injured.

Four workers were killed and at least 22 others were injured in a fire that broke out on Monday at a key data centre in Cairo, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the spokesperson at Egypt’s Health Ministry, told Reuters on Tuesday.

A major fire broke out at a telecommunications facility in central Cairo on Monday, injuring at least 14 people and causing widespread service disruptions across the capital, according to Egypt's health ministry.
