Buffalo Bills running back James Cook was back on the field with teammates on Tuesday, a welcome sign amid a continued contract dispute with the team. Cook’s return followed a series of hold-ins that saw him miss the final week of training camp at St. John Fisher University and Buffalo’s first preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Bills posted a video of Cook signing his contract Tuesday morning. As vice president of football administration Kevin Meganck shuffled the paperwork for him to sign, making the life-altering contract official, Cook brushed tears from his eyes.

Cook attended mandatory mini camp earlier this summer and decided to end his "hold-in" on Tuesday as a full participant in practice this preseason.
