PHOENIX -- the Arizona Diamondbacks were in desperate need of a sweep. They did so in impressive, clean fashion, outscoring the St. Louis Cardinals 22-7 over three games.
Diamondbacks All-Star third baseman Eugenio Suárez is probably the most coveted trade candidate right now with the MLB trade deadline less than two weeks away (July 31). He homered twice on the Saturday before the All-Star break,
Suárez just had his second consecutive multi-homer game, bringing his season total to 35. Suárez, 34, is having an excellent season in what will probably be his final in Arizona. Along with his 35 home runs, he has 85 RBI while slashing .257/.328/.601 in 98 games.
