It turns out, it might be your New England accent. Guide2Fluency.com, a language learning platform, surveyed 3,000 Americans to find how AI understands a variety of accents across the country.

The classic New York City accent came in third in a ranking of sexiest accents nationwide. Texas came in first, which is tough to top, but the blood-boiler is coming up short behind Boston.

And, by examining eye dialect in Abraham Cahan’s 1896 novella “Yekl: A Tale of the New York Ghetto,” Bailey discovered that today’s New “Yoik” accent was thriving well before 1900.
