The Lightning have shared that they have recalled forward Scott Sabourin from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch. The Bolts also announced that forward Mitchell Chaffee has officially been assigned to Syracuse after clearing waivers.

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled forward Scott Sabourin from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League, Vice President and General Manager Julien BriseBois announced today. In addition, the Lightning have assigned forward Mitchell Chaffee to AHL Syracuse.

The Tampa Bay Lightning host the Vegas Golden Knights at Benchmark International Arena on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 5 p.m. ET. The game airs on ESPN+. Tampa Bay won 4-3 at home its last time out on Oct. 25 against the Anaheim Ducks. Vegas' last game was a road loss, 3-0, against the Florida Panthers on Oct. 25.

Tampa Bay Lightning placed forward Mitchell Chaffee on waivers. With the 27-year-old forward setting career highs with 12 goals, six assists, 18 points, and 133 hits in 66 games just last season, it seemed possible that another team would claim him.

Nikita Kucherov’s 1,000th career NHL point cleared the Tampa Bay Lightning bench in the second period of Saturday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks, but it was his 1,001st career point later in the game that made the bigger difference for Tampa Bay.

Ryan Donato scored two more goals to help the Chicago Blackhawks beat the slumping Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2 on Thursday night. It was the Hawks’ fourth win in five games.

Nikita Kucherov had an assist for his 1,000th career point as Tampa Bay got its first home win of the season. Victor Hedman registered his 800th career point and Brandon Hagel picked up career point No. 300. Jonas Johansson finished with 37 saves for Tampa Bay, which ended an 0-2-2 stretch with just its second win of the season (2-4-2)
