Jon Luke Evans and Radule Bojovic, serving as police officers in Maine and Illinois, were arrested by ICE for being in the U.S. illegally despite passing background checks.

The memo issued by the agency’s top human resources officer on Wednesday said the White House had directed DHS to continue “timely payment” to Immigration and Customs Enforcement deportation officers, U.S. Border Patrol agents and U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers, even though federal funding had lapsed.

In July Martyn Newitt from Liskeard admitted misconduct in public office and misusing a computer to secure unauthorised access to data and was given a 12 month suspended prison sentence at Bristol Crown Court.

Timothy Scott Jaekel, 52, was arrested on seven counts of committing lewd or lascivious acts with a child younger than 14 years old. He remained in custody Thursday evening at the Sacramento County Main Jail.

A trial date has been set in federal court for Matthew Farwell, the former Stoughton, Massachusetts police officer who is charged with killing Sandra Birchmore.

Video of the 2023 collision contradicts a report filed by the officers, who were members of the Community Response Team. The Police Department has since moved to rein in the unit.
