Many true crime series devote their final act, or entire episodes, to the trial, ending with a verdict as a form of closure. The Perfect Neighbor, again, avoids genre conventions as it instead concluding with Ajike’s family at her memorial service; Lorincz’s trial is left for the end credits. The victims, not the perpetrator, get the last word.
