Authorities identified the man they say shot and killed a K-9 officer, Spike, while attempting to escape from police in Burbank. Jose Domingo Ayala Alas, 37, was identified as the man accused of shooting the K-9 and at officers before being fatally shot during the gunfire exchange.

Three men were charged with murder on Wednesday, Nov. 26, for the shooting of a woman in Northridge in what prosecutors called an ambush attack, authorities said. The Saturday morning, Nov. 22, confrontation left 22-year-old Maria De La Rosa, a Latin-music artist known as Delarosa, dead, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said.

Twenty-two-year-old Maria de la Rosa was in a parked vehicle with two people when men approached, demanded money and opened fire, prosecutors say.
