The Foreign Secretary is meeting US Vice President JD Vance at his Kent mansion today for bilateral talks on UK–US relations amid ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine. David Lammy will meet him at his Grade I-listed country house in Chevening near Sevenoaks as the American politician begins his summer holiday with his family in the UK.

The Foreign Secretary is reported to have attended mass at the vice-president’s Washington residence during a visit in March.

JD Vance will spend his British holiday at a sprawling manor house in the Cotswolds. The vice president is to stay in a Grade II-listed Oxfordshire property surrounded by members of the “Chipping Norton set”. The house has six acres of land, two cellars, a tennis court, a rose garden, a basement gym and a Georgian orangery.
