Wind gusts of up to 40 mph and penny-size hail could pummel parts of the Houston area Saturday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

With repeated storms, some locations could see 1–3 inches of rain, possibly more locally. No severe concerns Sunday for southeast Texas. However, there will be thunderstorms spotty to scattered throughout the day, with ample dry time in between. Watch for heavy downpours that could lead to ponding and lightning when storms pass.

HOUSTON — The nightly drone show at RodeoHouston has been canceled due to severe weather in the area, event officials announced Saturday evening. According to organizers, the drone show scheduled for Saturday night will not take place because of inclement weather conditions around NRG Park.
