A gray wolf has died in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado Parks and Wildlife said, marking the third wolf translocated from Canada to Colorado to die since their release in January.

A collared gray wolf released in Colorado in January as part of the state’s historic reintroduction effort died in Rocky Mountain National Park this week, wildlife officials said Thursday.

Another wolf exported from British Columbia to Colorado in January was found dead on Sunday in Rocky Mountain National Park.
