(NEXSTAR) — Former President Joe Biden, 82, has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, his personal office announced Sunday. He is now said to be considering treatment options.

Biden was seen last week by doctors after urinary symptoms and a prostate nodule was found. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer on Friday, with the cancer cells having spread to the bone.

Biden discussed his treatment for the first time publicly since announcing his prostate cancer diagnosis as he attended a Memorial Day service in New Castle, Del., on Friday, May 30.

On May 18, Biden’s office announced that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, several days after a small nodule was found on the former president’s prostate.
