You may need a reminder on this as Barclay Goodrow made his return to the Garden on Thursday as a member of the Sharks, but the Rangers’ bottom-six was a mess at this point last season when No. 21 was in the middle of it all.

In his return to Madison Square Garden on Thursday night, Barclay Goodrow was honored with a video tribute during the first period. Following the first commercial break, a quick video tribute was shown with highlights from Goodrow’s time with the Rangers. The fans gave him a standing ovation as Goodrow waved to all of the crowd.

Barclay Goodrow is set to return back to Madison Square Garden on Thursday night for the first time since everything went down between him and the New York Rangers. The New York Rangers bought out Goodrow’s contract at the beginning of the offseason as he was almost immediately claimed by the San Jose Sharks.

Barclay Goodrow was the cap casualty for the Rangers this past summer, when the organization had to ruthlessly put the veteran forward on waivers to circumvent his 15-team no-trade list and complete a pre-arranged deal with the Sharks.
