Qatar Airways posted a 28% jump in annual net profit to a record 7.8 billion Qatari riyals ($2.1 billion), according to a preliminary statement issued by the airline on Monday.

President Trump announced business deals in Qatar including an agreement for Qatar Airways to buy 160 Boeing planes. The White House later said the deal is a $96 billion agreement to acquire up to 210 Boeing 787 Dreamliner and 777X aircraft and that it was Boeing’s largest widebody plane order.

Boeing's business has been beset by issues and disrupted by Trump's trade war with China, which stopped accepting plane deliveries in response to U.S. tariffs.
