ATLANTA — No matter what happens at Tuesday’s All-Star Game, Pirates ace Paul Skenes will make history.

In the 11th round of the 2025 MLB Draft, the Pittsburgh Pirates selected Dylan Palmer with the 323rd overall pick. In Palmer’s senior season (2022) at Notre Dame, he batted .577 with 45 hits, 43 runs, and 29 stolen bases to land on the All-State Second Team.

Seth Hernandez, who was selected by the Pirates with the No. 6 pick, has drawn some intriguing comparisons to Paul Skenes.
