The Milford high schooler arrested by ICE over the weekend will be able to meet with his lawyer for the first time after a ruling from a federal judge, who also denied the federal government’s attempt to transfer him out of state.

Instead of performing with the Milford High School band at Sunday's graduation, Marcelo Gomes Da Silva was detained by immigration officials.

Marcelo Gomes, the Milford, Massachusetts high school student currently detained by ICE, had an expired student visa, his attorney said.
