Once cast as Formula 1’s villain, Red Bull's Max Verstappen has been unexpectedly humanised by TikTok - cat videos and all

The FIA hit the Red Bull star and four-time world champion with a 10-second penalty in the race, followed by three penalty points on his super license. That means Verstappen enters the Canadian Grand Prix with 11 points total on his super license in total. F1's rules dictate 12 penalty points in a 12-month period trigger a one-race suspension.

Max Verstappen has clashed with Sky Sports reporter Ted Kravitz in a frosty exchange at the Canadian Grand Prix. At the Spanish Grand Prix, Verstappen was informed over the team radio that he needed to give the position back to Russell after rejoining the track in front of the Mercedes driver.

Max Verstappen wasn’t having it when a Sky Sports reporter brought up Red Bull’s controversial call from Spain.

George Russell said Max Verstappen tried to show who was the boss when they collided in Spain two weeks ago, but the scare tactics backfired. The Mercedes Formula One driver told British reporters ahead of the 10th round of the season in Montreal that he did not think Red Bull's four-times world champion had tried to deliberately ram him.

Over the next two Formula 1 grands prix in Canada and Austria, one penalty point will be enough for Max Verstappen to be banned for a race, but he insists that won't play on his mind when he gets into his Red Bull.
