Donald Trump's deployment of the National Guard in Los Angeles following a spate of riots was found to be illegal earlier this week, but the president doesn't appear remorseful over the decision

The National Guard, brought in by the Trump administration over the weekend, remains in Southern California as the area has entered Day 8 of anti-ICE protests.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom asked the Trump administration to rescind the deployment, saying the federal government was moving to "take over the California National Guard," calling the move "purposefully inflammatory" and saying it will "only escalate tensions."
